- Part of Ford’s perennially popular F-Series line of trucks, the Super Duty made its debut for 1999 with powerful engines, a beefier suspension system than the smaller F-150, and a reinforced frame. The range included F-250, F-350, and F-450 models available in a dizzying number of configurations ranging from stripped-out workhorses to lavish highway cruisers. Gasoline- and diesel-burning engines were offered as well. All had at least one thing in common: they were built specifically for towing and hauling.
